Top Naija Music Awards (Upcoming Artistes Edition) 2012 Debuts, To Hold In Lagos on Friday 28th December

As the year 2012 comes to an end, the TopNaijaMusic.com team deemed it fit to organize a unique event that will honour and appreciate the efforts of Nigeria upcoming artistes who are doing all they can to create a better future for themselves. As the director, Paul Oghoghorie puts it “Many of our youths are unemployed and rather than waste away their time in search of white collar jobs, a good number of  them have decided to create their own future by venturing into music. And as you can see today, music starts earn more than bank managers do”.
The official announcement of the awards was made on 18th September 2012, on twitter, Facebook and BBM. And today, the categories
of the award have been released and are presented below. These categories are presented in order for upcoming artistes to know where they will fit in before proper nominations start later this month. Songs that will be nominated should have been released between January 2011 – September 30, 2012.

* Best Artiste of The Year ( for the act who came into limelight and who is popular but is not an ‘A’ list artiste.
* Best Song Of The Year (most popular song released by an upcoming artiste)
* Best Producer of the Year
* Best R n B Single
* Best Afro Pop Single
* Best Collaboration
* Most Promosing Act
* Recording Of The Year (song with the best recording technology)
* Best Rap Single
* Best Pop Single
* Best Collabo With An ‘A’ List Artiste
* Lyricist On The Roll (Artiste who used creativity and tactics to deliver his lines)
* Best Song Lyrics
* Best Vocal Performance
* Best Hip Hop Single
* Best Hip Hop/Rap Music Video
* Best R n B Music Video
* Best Music Video Director
* Best Single With A Message
* Best Gospel Single (English)
* Best Gospel Single (Non-English)
* Most Circulated Single (to reward the act who made efforts to circulate his songs on/off the internet)
* Most Circulated Music Video
The search is on. Note that artistes can’t nominate themselves in more than one category. Its one category per artiste so that other artistes can enjoy the privilege of winning an award.
